That is dress has 10 layers of petticoat under it. I have a petticoat tutorial:

I just found your blog and while I had an idea of how to make a petticoat, I had wondered how to make the style Kristy had also mentioned! 10 laters? Looks like I'll need a lot of bed sheets and tulle! You're awesome and thanks!

I just found your tutorial on petticoats. I am in the middle of making my own version of a Cinderella dress for my 5 year old daughter. Your tutorial really helped me figure out what style of petticoat I'm going to do on her dress. The I'm going to change it just a little and build it into the dress. THANKS!!!
Also love your line... Love the big band music too!

I love the petticoat fluff of the dress from the third video from the bottom. Part of my question has already been been answered, ten layers is crazy cool!

My secondary question which isn't asnwered previosuly is, though it's ten layers, how many tiers is each layer?

I have a horrible obesession with lolita outfits and I am looking to make several types of petticoats for different silhouettes. I can't afford the shipping on most petticoats online and most don't come in my size anyway, hence I am learning to make my own.

Can't wait to hear from you!!

Chel-Bou-

There are three tiers. If you follow my petticoat tutorial (10 times) then you'll achieve this amount of fluff. Also because there are so many layers, I didn't bother covering up every seam with ribbon, just the bottom.

Hi! I understand that you used 10 pedi's under the skirt, however! I would like to know what is the actual form/fabric of the skirt? I.E. Circle skirt, A-line, Cotton blend fabric, Taffeta, etc.

NoviceSeamstress13-

This is 10 layers of the petticoat I demonstrated in my tutorial:

with one exception, I used tulle in this rather than nylon crinoline.

I think NoviceSeamstress13 meant the fabric and style of the dress itself, rather than the petticoat. For myself I would like to know the same, what fabric did you use for your dress? What style/cut is that? It looks like a halter top/ a line. Love the fabric by the way, the polka dots make it so vintage! :]

It is a full circle skirt. And the material is chiffon lined with charmeuse.
